Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang said that Vietnam and the Netherlands have developed a dynamic, effective, and practical relationship. The two countries have become priority and important partners since the establishment of a comprehensive partnership in 2019. The Netherlands is Vietnam's second largest trading partner in Europe and the largest EU investor in Vietnam, said Ms. Hang.
Dutch Ambassador Kees van Baar said that the two countries have built a strong relationship with many achievements based on cooperation and mutual respect and trust. He affirmed that the Netherlands wants to work with Vietnam to seize opportunities over the next 50 years.
Vice Chairman of the Dutch Business Association in Vietnam and leaders of many Dutch businesses such as Damen Song Cam Shipyard, De Heus, Van Der Leun, and Alewijnse Marine shared their cooperation achievements in Vietnam and pledged to support Vietnam in developing high-quality human resources.
Both sides agreed that economics, trade, and investment will continue to be important pillars of cooperation in the future and they should take advantage of legal frameworks such as the EU-Vietna Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), while enhancing cooperation on the circular economy, green development, and technology transfer.
