(VOVworld)- The Ha Tinh Provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam Kieu Study Association organized a seminar on Nguyen Du and his famous Tale of Kieu in Ha Tinh province on Wednesday.

Workshop “Nguyen Du and the Tale of Kieu” opens in Ha Tinh

Participants agreed that Thang Long, Nguyen Du’s birthplace, Nghe region - his father’s native land, Bac Ninh- his mother’s home province, and Thai Binh- his wife’s home town had influenced the poet’s literary style. Associate Professor, Doctor Bien Minh Dien of the Vinh University said:“Nguyen Du well understood the Nghe region’s culture reflected in local people’s conical hats, rattan bags, and thatched houses, in the way they eat, dress, and travel and their daily activities. Nghe’s culture strongly influenced Nguyen Du’s literary style”.
