(VOVworld) – Hai Phong city’s People’s Committee held a workshop on Saturday on natural resources and the environment in the East Sea which are increasingly affected by human’s activities.

The participants also discussed research results, scientific and legal view in the context of complicated political, economic, national defense and security situation in the East Sea which affects marine security and safety. The workshop also collected proposals by regional countries to effectively manage people’s activities in the East Sea. The participants discussed the control of construction, transportation and exploitation to prevent any negative impacts on the environment and human health. They called on regional countries and the international community to work together based on international law including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea to protest China’s illegal acts in the East Sea.
