(VOVworld) – A workshop on  promoting Ha Long bay’s natural heritage values was held on Saturday in Ha Long city.

It was part of activities to celebrate 20 years of Ha Long Bay being recognized as a world natural heritage by UNESCO (December 17, 1994-2014). The participants exchanged experiences and measures to improve the preservation and sustainable promotion of values of world natural heritages in Vietnam including Ha Long bay. Vice Chairwoman of Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee Vu Thi Thu Thuy said after 20 years since Ha Long bay was recognized as a world natural heritage, a number of policies and programs on preservation have been implemented. Ha Long Bay’s unique values have been well preserved and its potential has been tapped to develop tourism, thus boosting the local economic growth.
