(VOVworld)- The Vietnam National Mekong Committee on Monday hosted a workshop on the impact of hydro power plants in the Mekong River. The delegates discussed research in this area by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment saying that it will serve as a basis for Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia to take into consideration while developing power plants on the River. The research looked at the impact of the plants on the natural, economic and social environment in the downstream submerged areas of Vietnam and Cambodia.
