At a reception in Hanoi on Wednesday, Prime Minister Phuc briefed World Bank Country Director Carolyn Turk on Vietnam’s socio-economic development and public investment plans for the 2021-2026 period. He urged the World Bank to work closely with Vietnam’s ministries, agencies, and localities to roll out effective development projects.

Ms. Turk expressed sympathy for the Vietnamese people whose lives have been been ravaged by recent flooding. She promised that the World Bank will work hard to help those in need.

Vietnam has seen quick disbursement of public investment capital but ODA disbursement has been slower than the world average, Turk noted. She promised to help speed up the process.
