Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said that RCEP will be an important tool for economic recovery, encouraging markets to reopen and ensuring that supply chains are not interrupted. He said the pact will benefit all.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo called the signing of RCEP a symbol of commitment to peace, stability and prosperity in the region. According to President Widodo, the deal shows a commitment to multilateral trade that is "open, fair and beneficial for all parties."

Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said the agreement signals a collective commitment to open and connected supply chains, freer trade, and closer interdependence despite COVID-19, which has countries turning inwards and feelings protectionist pressures.

According to Thai Prime Minister Payut Chan-o-cha, RCEP is not only the largest free trade agreement in the world, but sets a new standard for greater competitiveness and economic benefit for all members.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said RCEP represents a shared commitment to opening trade and investment, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said RCEP is of strategic value to New Zealand as it strengthens and deepens its relations in the region.
