Vi outperformed her five opponents and earned 9,513 points in Jianshu and 9,527 points in Qiangshu event. With a total score of 19,040 points, Duong Thuy Vi was far ahead of the second runner-up from South Korean Seo Heeju, who gained only 18,320 points. Finishing third is Yana Poltoratska of Ukraine. Thanks to Vi’s gold medal, Vietnam ranked 26th on the medal tally.
The Vietnamese athletes are competing in wushu, billiards, beach handball and muay events at the 2022 World Games until July 17.
