Yemeni government, Houthi rebels reach weeklong ceasefire agreement
(VOVworld) – Yemen’s government and Houthi rebels agreed Saturday to start a weeklong ceasefire on the eve of direct talks in Geneva.

At a press conference, a spokesman of Houthis Mohammed Abdel Salam said that provocative acts will be suspended on Monday, adding that the two sides agreed to the ceasefire to deliver humanitarian assistance to people. The government of Yemeni President Mansour Hadi and Houthi’s representative will attend peace talks, mediated by the United Nations, in Geneva on Tuesday to find a way to end conflicts in Yemen.
