Young intellectuals encouraged to contribute to national development

(VOVworld) – 85% of the young intellectuals appointed vice chairs of poor communes in remote areas under a project approved by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung have fulfilled their tasks for 2013. Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Thanh Binh on the Sunday TV broadcast “Citizens ask, ministers answer” said these young intellectuals have won the trust of local people through their contribution to poverty elimination programs.

Following the success of the project, which appointed 600 young intellectuals as vice chairs of poor communes in remote areas, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung approved another project to select young volunteers to work in remote and mountainous regions in the 2013-2020 period with recruitment to begin this May. These young people will be appointed to appropriate positions, based on the needs of each commune, to help the local government develop economics, reduce poverty, and build new rural areas. Minister Binh said that in addition to these programs, the government is planning to attract more elite students to work in Party and government agencies.
