(VOVworld) – The General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army organized a youth gala night on Wednesday to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification.
At the event held at the Heroic Vietnamese Mothers monument in Quang Nam province, Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Head of the General Department of Politics, recalled Vietnam’s heroic tradition and the sacrifice of generations for national reunification. The program paid tribute to predecessors and inspired determination and a sense of responsibility on the part of young army officers for Vietnam’s current construction and defense. The performances involved 3,000 young people of Military Zone 5, the Ministry of Public Security, and Quang Nam University.

Nguyen Chin, Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee, said: “We chose as a venue the Heroic Vietnamese Mothers monument in Quang Nam province to remind younger generations of Vietnam’s revolutionary tradition. We hope this tradition will be promoted in Vietnam’s current development and defense.”
228 savings books, worth 51,000 USD, were presented to heroic Vietnamese mothers and policy beneficiary families.
