Initiated by President Ho Chi Minh in 1959, the annual tree planting festival has become a tradition in Vietnam, encouraging afforestation and forest protection and greatly contributing to national development.
Vietnam aims to plant 1 billion trees between now and 2025, including about 182 million this year.
Bui Quang Huy, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, said, “During Youth Month, we’ll focus on helping young people start businesses."
"This is an opportunity for young people nationwide to tap the vanguard spirit and call society’s attention to their contribution to socio-economic development.”
On this occasion, gift sets, scholarships, and bikes were presented to policy beneficiary households and disadvantaged students in Hà Quảng district.
