(VOVworld) – A meeting was held in Hanoi on Monday to celebrate the 125th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, attended by Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, state leaders, and representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Hanoi City.

Addressing the function, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong said President Ho Chi Minh’s life and career was an epic, a shining example of patriotism, communist virtue, and revolutionary morality, and a great encouragement to the Vietnamese people.
The Communist Party of Vietnam was founded by President Ho Chi Minh in 1930 and its political doctrine guided the Vietnamese revolution and made it a great success.
Party leader Trong said “President Ho Chi Minh’s contributions to the Vietnamese nation were enormous. He devoted his life to the national revolution, the Party, and the people until his last breath. His reputation and career will live forever in the heart of every Vietnamese person. Uncle Ho left for us and future generations a huge legacy - Ho Chi Minh’s thought, the Ho Chi Minh era, and Ho Chi Minh’s moral example and lifestyle.”
Mr. Trong called Ho Chi Minh’s thought an invaluable spiritual asset, an eternal torch lighting for Vietnam’s struggle for national independence, freedom, and socialism.
Ho Chi Minh was not only a talented thinker, and military strategist, but also a preeminent activist. He established the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnam National Solidarity Front, now the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and particularly international solidarity with the proletarian class.
