(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has announced that November 9 is observed as Vietnam’s Law Day, honoring the Constitution and law and improving people’s awareness of and respect for the law. The Prime Minister was speaking at a ceremony in Hanoi on Friday: “The National Assembly’s approval of the Law on publicizing and educating law, which decides to observe November 9 as the Vietnam Law Day is aimed at increasing the people’s awareness of the rule of law. The Vietnam Law Day is a message sent to the people all over the world, foreign investors and Overseas Vietnamese about a reforming Vietnam, which respects the rule of law”. 

The Prime Minister called for efforts to make the day effective: “The Vietnam Law Day should be organized in a practical and appropriate manner to serve socio-economic development and the legal needs of organizations and individuals. Efforts should be made to continue to refine the legal system regarding the organization and operation of the institutions in the political system, meeting the needs of building a socialist state governed by law. Human rights and people’s rights to freedom and democracy should be ensured”.
