Themed “Ho Chi Minh City-firmly advances forward”, the 720-meter street is divided into three sections: “City of love and identity”, “Smart city”, and “Creative urban hub”. The highlight of the street is the arrangement of six big clay pigs wearing yellow apricot blossoms and patterns of coins and banknotes. Through these sacred animals, the organizers encourage visitors to raise fund for local poor children. Vuong Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Saigon Tourist company, is head organizer: "The “Smart city” section stands out with fresh and unique arrangements. 2019 marks the 60th anniversary of the Nguyen Hue flower street. We place six clay pigs along the street as a way to call for charity fund for poor children and respond to municipal Youth Union’s activities."
The opening ceremony of this year’s event was attended by National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
