Vietnam attends regional foreign ministers’ meetings

(VOVworld) - A Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Phuong Nga took part in the 12th Asian Cooperation Dialogue Ministerial Meeting (ACD 12) and the 3rd ASEAN and Gulf Cooperation Council Ministerial Meeting (ASEAN-GCC 3) in Manama, Bahrain, early this week. The Gulf Cooperation Council includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Addressing ACD 12, Nga stressed the meeting’s role in promoting dialogue and cooperation and building trust to overcome shared development challenges. She proposed orientations for cooperation in tourism, trade and investment, natural disaster mitigation, and effective use and sustainable management of water resources. She reiterated Vietnam’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with other member countries for peace, prosperity and development.  

At the ASEAN-GCC 3, Nga said Vietnam is keen to create favorable conditions for GCC enterprises to invest and operate in Vietnam. It wants to strengthen cooperation with GCC countries in trade, investment, labor, and tourism.     

While attending the two meetings, Nga met with Bahrain’s Minister in charge of foreign affairs, Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister, the Deputy Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan’s Chief Representative to seek greater cooperation.
