Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh told the event that 2019 is the 11th year Vietnam celebrates Earth Hour nationwide to encourage individuals and organizations to take specific actions to save energy and save the earth toward the target of sustainable development.
Earth Hour’s Ambassadors – Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 H’Hen Nie and World Bank’s Country Director for Vietnam Ousmane Dione – called on people to work together to save energy to protect natural resources and the environment.

The same day, more than 1,000 students of the University of National Science of the Hanoi National University joined a students’ Earth Hour campaign.
In Da Nang city, leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade and the Da Nang Electricity Company joined a walking tour to convey a message of “save energy, save the earth” and climate change response.
3,000 volunteers participated in a switching-off light ceremony named “You’re Environmental Ambassadors” at the Youth Cultural House of Ho Chi Minh City.
