VOV marks World Radio Day, February 13th
(VOVWORLD) - The Voice of Vietnam marked World Radio Day 2018 at its headquarters in Hanoi on Friday.

Addressing the event, entitled “Radio and Sports”, VOV Vice President Vu Hai said VOV is a national communications agency with 4 media formats: radio, TV, print, and online newspaper.
Hai said VOV will continue to do its best to become one of Vietnam’s leading multi-media groups. He underlined the importance of radio: “World Radio Day is to honor radio broadcasters around the world including those at VOV. It also offers an opportunity for audience around the globe to have an insight into special radio values. In the current multi-media era, radio retains its role as the fastest and most popular means of information dissemination everywhere and every time.”

Toshiyuki Matsumoto, an UNESCO expert in education programming, said: “Sports and radio can join hands in driving for a positive change. I believe in the strength of radio and sports. Being recognized as an instrument to promoting peace, sports help to boost social integration and sustainable development in different geographical cultures and political contexts. I’m confidence the Voice of Vietnam will follow the moment that sports events can showcase the power of sports in bridging and promoting diversity and solidarity.”
