(VOVWORLD) - As spring unfolds, festivals are held across Vietnam welcoming visitors eager to immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere, experience unique cultural traditions, and enjoy the beauty of the season.

The Huong Pagoda Festival opened at the Huong Son Scenic Relic Site in My Duc district, Hanoi, on February 3, the 6th day of the Lunar New Year. With the theme "A Destination for Vietnamese Tourism, Culture, and Traditions," this major pilgrimage runs from the first to the third lunar month each year.
This year, several new activities have been introduced, including boat racing, dragon dancing, spring palanquin processions, and folk games.

Venerable Thich Minh Hien, the abbot of Huong Pagoda, said: "We’re organizing a poetry recitation night on the full moon or 15th day of the first lunar month, Buddhist art exhibitions at Thien Tru pagoda, and a Buddhist week from the 19th day of the 2nd lunar month at Huong pagoda. With a range of cultural and arts events, we hope to make this year's festival even more meaningful."
The Bai Dinh Spring Festival has begun at Bai Dinh pagoda in Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh province, welcoming thousands of pilgrims and tourists. More than just a religious event, the festival offers visitors an opportunity to explore the rich culture and breathtaking landscapes of Ninh Binh.
Bui Thi Quy, a visitor from Nghe An, said: "In Ninh Binh there are so many places to explore, like Tam Coc-Bich Dong, Trang An scenic spots, and both ancient and newly built pagodas."

In Lai Chau province, nearly 30 spring festivals are being held until the end of March, showcasing the cultural heritage of local ethnic communities. The Gầu Tào spring festival, the Xòe Chiêng dance festival, the Lùng Tùng (Going to the Field) festival, the Hạn Khuống (Going to the Forest) festival, and many others will highlight the traditions of different ethnic groups.
Tran Quang Khang, Deputy Director of the Lai Chau Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said: "After the Lunar New Year, festivals are underway across Lai Chau, from the provincial to the communal level. These activities preserve and promote the cultural values of ethnic groups and boost tourism, attracting more visitors to Lai Chau for the rest of the year."
On February 4, the 7th day of the Lunar New Year, locals and visitors gathered at Tượng Sơn communal house in Ba Đồn town, Quảng Bình province, for the annual spring opening festival. In addition to traditional rituals, attendees enjoyed martial arts performances, whip dancing, and swordplay by village elders, as well as folk games and other cultural activities.
Spring festivals, a cherished cultural tradition in Vietnam, bring the community together to express gratitude and pray for a year of favorable weather, bountiful harvests, peace, and prosperity.
