(VOVworld) – The 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) concluded successfully on Thursday after eight days of working.

Delegates listened to reports on the voting of major issues set in the Party National Congress documents and the election of the Politburo, the Party General Secretary, the Secretariat, the Inspection Commission, and the commission’s head for the new tenure.
The 12th Party Central Committee made debut at the closing ceremony where newly-reelected Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, on behalf of the Committee, expressed thanks to delegates for contributing their efforts to the success of the Congress.
He said: “we promise that the 12th Party Central Committee will work with the entire Party and people to continue the Party’s glorious tradition and experiences to strengthen solidarity, renovate ways of thinking, apply President Ho Chi Minh’s ideologies, and be consistent to independence and socialism. We’ll reform the working method of management agencies of the Party from the central to the grassroots levels in a scientifically, democratically, by the people, and for the people.”
Earlier the Congress adopted the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress and listened to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong delivering his closing speech.
After the closing session, Mr. Trong chaired a press conference to inform the Congress’s outcomes.
