(VOVworld) The 2014 Spring Book Fair opened at Hanoi Library on Friday, attracting thousands of people, mostly young readers. Participants were introduced to more than 2000 books from various genres.

The fair’s head organizer, Quynh Thi, said the event, the first of its kind organized by the Hanoi Library, aims to improve young people’s awareness about the importance of reading: "The fair targets readers between 12 and 25. We wanted to create a venue for young people to find their favorite books and meet with famous writers and reading pals. Books will help youngsters to improve their social skills, because nowadays many of them are too dependent on the internet. We hope the fair will help encourage the reading habits of youngsters in Hanoi."
The fair will last for 3 days.
