(VOVworld) - The 2015 Boao Forum for Asia kicked off on Thursday in the scenic town of Boao, in China’s province of Hainan.
The annual conference, themed “Asia's New Future: Toward a Community of Common Destiny”, will include more than 70 discussions on macro-economy, regional development, technological innovation, and security. The focus of this year’s event is China’s initiative to establish the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
The 21st Century Maritime Silk Road will also be officially begun with the aim of promoting maritime cooperation and bringing Asian countries closer to their development goals. Chinese President Xi Jinping and 6 other world leaders will attend the conference.
Delegates will include 80 ministers, 60 representatives of the world’s top 500 enterprises and 1,700 official delegations. The 2015 Boao Forum will seek solutions for security, political, and economic issues in Asia.
