Known as a musical art, Don ca tai tu, honours the creativity and artistry of the performers.
(VOVworld) - Twenty one “Don ca tai tu” troupes from cities and provinces in the southern regions will participate in the first national festival of “Don ca tai tu”, or amateur singing slated for late April in Bac Lieu.
The festival’s organising board made the statement at a press briefing in Hanoi on Thursday.
The festival will feature 21 activities that typify the culture of the southern region, including a culinary festival, a performance honoring songwriters, Trong Nguyen and Yen Lang, an exhibition of folk music instruments, and an exhibit of antique motors. Vo Van Dung, Bac Lieu’s Party Secretary, says:
“The festival is a chance to honor the typical art form which is not only a national heritage but a world intangible cultural heritage that Vietnamese people and those in the southern region are proud of and need to preserve. This will enrich the spiritual life of Vietnamese people while developing the economy, tourism, and Vietnam’s performing arts.”
Within the framework of the festival, there will be an auction to raise money for the provincial social welfare fund.
