21st Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum concludes
The 21st Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum concluded in Vladivostok city, Russia, on Wednesday with a dozen of resolutions and a joint communiqué. The forum elected Mexico the forum host for the next term. This year’s forum President Valentina Matvienko, who is also Chairwoman of Russia's Federation Council, told reporters following the 3-day forum that discussion sessions achieved positive outcomes and boosted Russia’s role in the Asia-Pacific region.

National Assembly's Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu led the Vietnamese delegation at all working sessions, and proposed legislative incentives and parliamentary cooperation. He delivered presentations on Asia-Pacific food security issues. On the sideline of the event, Luu visited the Duma – lower house of the Parliament, the Vladivostok administration, and Vietnam’s Consulate General in Vladivostok. He also met with Valentina Matvienko and overseas Vietnamese living in Vladivostok.
