Many schools in Vietnam’s northern and central regions have suffered serious flooding, but authorities have worked hard to allow students to start the new school year on schedule.

Nguyen Huu Dung, Deputy Rector of Ta Hoc District’s Boarding School in Son La province, said: “After the ceremony, we will continue cleaning up the school and ensuring the infrastructure. It will take about a week to get things back to normal.”

In the 2018-2019 academic year, the education sector will continue measures to build a safe, healthy and friendly learning environment.
