25th ASEAN Coordinating Council convened
(VOVWORLD) - The 25 ASEAN Coordinating Council (ACC) convened online on Thursday drawing Foreign Ministers of 10 ASEAN countries and the ASEAN Secretary General.
In his address, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, Chairman of the ACC, shared Vietnam’s experience in coping with the Covid-19 pandemic. He said the participation of whole political system, ministries, sectors, localities and the entire public helped Vietnam curb the spread of the disease. He urged ASEAN countries to boost cooperation in the fight against the epidemic.
The council discussed preparations for the Special ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting and ASEAN+3 meeting with China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea on coping with the epidemic to be held online next Tuesday. ASEAN Ministers acknowledged Vietnam’s preparations for the documents to be approved at the Meetings. They pledged to work closely to make the meetings a success. The Ministers pledged to work closely to fight Covid-19.
