(VOVworld) - A meeting to mark the 40th anniversary of southern liberation and national reunification took place on Tuesday at the headquarter of Argentina’s Lower House in the capital city of Buenos Aires with the participation of representatives of Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Argentina’s National Congress, Argentina-Vietnam Cultural Institute, and ambassadors of many countries in Argentina including Russia, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Nicaragua. Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of Argentina, Guillermo Carmona praised Vietnamese people's heroic and patriotic tradition and Vietnam's socio-economic achievements.

40th anniversary of southern liberation, national reunification celebrated overseas

On the same day, the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt held a banquet to mark the occasion. Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Dao Thanh Chung stressed the General Spring Offensive in 1975 demonstrated the outstanding leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh. The resounding victory created a turning point in national history, opened a new chapter of national independence and socialism and played an important role in building a coalition of Vietnam, Lao and Cambodia to fight against common enemies.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Dao Thanh Chung

The All-India Peace and Solidarity Organization (AIPSO) held a meeting to mark the 40th anniversary of Southern Liberation in India on Tuesday. At the event, Vice President of the All-India Peace and Solidarity Organization (AIPSO) and representatives of other organizations in India recalled Indian people's support for the resistance war of Vietnam. A well-known slogan that time “My name is Vietnam, Your name is Vietnam and Our name is Vietnam, Vietnam” is still deeply in the minds of many Indian people. Vietnam and India established a strategic partnership in 2007 and since then the Vietnam-India relation has been promoted and expanded in various fields.
