An event called “The legend of a road” recreated glorious historical milestones reached during Vietnam’s war against the US. The celebration was an expression of the nation’s gratitude for the great sacrifices made by Truong Son soldiers, volunteer youths, and ethnic minority people from Nghe An’s Tan Ky district.
On May 19, 1959, President Ho Chi Minh called for a strategic logistical transport route to run from northern Vietnam to the southern battlefront. Army Corps 559, later called the Truong Son Army Corps, established a route from Nghe An province to Binh Phuoc province.
