Fighting still shows no signs of easing or ending soon, despite a lot of international efforts. Over the last half year, especially in the last 2 months, international mediators have organized four rounds of negotiations to establish a new ceasefire, paving the way for humanitarian activities and creating a premise for a complete end to the conflict.
On April 7, representatives of the Islamic movement Hamas arrived in Cairo for negotiations on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
On March 25, the UN Security Council for the first time passed a Resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Countries and international organizations have continuously urged all parties to end the conflict.
Despite international efforts and pressure, fighting continues with hundreds of tons of bombs and ammunition raining down on Gaza every day.
Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths wrote on X on Saturday that no one is safe and there is nowhere safe to go in Gaza.
