It highlights island and coastal heritages of Quang Nam in a bid to attract more visitors to the province. This year's festival will witness many cultural and sport activities to be held for the first time including the first national Kayaking tournament in Phu Ninh lake and the performance of the rite to set up Neu poles of Vietnamese minority groups.

The International Choir Competition

The festival will also include the International Choir Competition, the International Kite Festival, a golf tournament, the World and Vietnam Silk Festival, an international food festival, the Vietnam Sailboat Race and the World Windsurfing Championship.

An exhibition of entitled “Vietnam Sea and Island Heritage” opened on Friday to showcase antiques, ancient documents and 100 photos about Vietnam’s Spratly and Paracel archipelagoes. Head of the exhibition organizing board, Duong Van Quynh tells us more about the exhibition: “The sea and island heritages are a wealth of cultural assets. Our message from this exhibition is to protect and promote those cultural values and defend national sea and island sovereignty. On display are subjects and products solidifying our sovereignty and collection of antiques from the sea.”
