(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang has asked the Public Security Forces to keep update and make accurate assessments of the domestic and global situations to timely provide consultations for the Party and government to issue policies in ensuring the national interest, security, and social order.

Mr. Sang made the call at the 71^st National Congress of the Public Security Forces in Hanoi on Tuesday.

He said against the complicated international developments that will directly affect the national construction and defense, the Vietnamese Party, State, and people have set a target to resolutely safeguard national independence, sovereignty and unification, territorial integrity and the interests of the nation.

President Sang particularly called on the forces to protect the cause of reform, industrialisation and modernisation and the international integration, while ensuring social order and security for socio-economic development of Vietnam.

The force was encouraged to foster international cooperation in the new situation and have appropriate measures to combat crimes of various kinds including high-tech crimes, organized and trans-national crimes, economic crimes, and violations of environmental laws.
