75th anniversary of southern uprising in Ho Chi Minh city

(VOVworld) – Photography exhibitions to mark the 75th anniversary of the southern uprising (Khoi nghia Nam Ky) opened at Nguyen Hue walking street, the Youth Cultural House, and Dong Giong T-junction Martyrs Monument in Ho Chi Minh city.

The photos feature the fighting spirit of the local people and soldiers during the uprising and Ho Chi Minh city’s development results. Hoang Thi Thu Loan, a local resident, says: “We’re moved to learn about the staunchness and bravery of our ancestors in the national liberation war. Similar exhibitions are of great importance at present to remind us of our ancestor’s sacrifice for our peaceful life.”

A conference on women involvement in the Khoi nghia Nam Ky

The Museum of Southern Women held a seminar on women involvement in the uprising. The audiences met with contemporary witnesses who talked about their memories of the uprising in 1940.
