80th anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army marked abroad
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese embassies in Moscow, New Delhi, and Tel Aviv on Tuesday held ceremonies to mark the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of the All-People Defense Festival (December 22).

In Moscow, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi said the army and people of Vietnam will never forget the heartfelt assistance of the former Soviet Union in its struggle for national liberation.
On Monday, the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations and the Vietnamese Military Attaché’s Office held a similar ceremony in New York.
Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the UN, reiterated Vietnam’s “four no’s” defense policy, along with a foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, and active international integration.

Vietnam has engaged in numerous bilateral and multilateral defense cooperation mechanisms, reinforcing strategic trust and contributing to global peace, security and development.
Over the past decade, Vietnam has deployed more than 800 personnel, including a high percentage of women, to UN peacekeeping missions, leaving a positive impression on the international community and earning high regard from the UN and global partners.
