(VOVworld) – Egyptian former army chief Abdel Fatah al-Sisi was officially confirmed as Egypt's next president on Tuesday when Egypt's electoral commission announced that he had won 96.9% of the votes in the presidential election. Sisi’s sole challenger, Hamdeen Sabahi, received only 3.1% of the votes. After the announcement, Egypt’s new president called on his people to take action to restore social order and justice.
