(VOVworld) – The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and Danang city have organized a ceremony to activate a countdown clock for the 5th Asian Beach Games.

An estimated 10,000 people, including nearly 5,000 athletes and trainers from 45 countries across Asia, will gather in Vietnam’s central Da Nang city for the 5th Asian Beach Games scheduled from September 24 to October 3, 2016.
Dang Viet Dung, Vice Chairman of Danang People’s Committee and Head of the organizing board, said: “As a representative for Vietnam, Danang will do its best to fulfill the demands of the Asian Olympic Council and ABG organizing board. The city’s leaders and people are eager to contribute to the event and will offer the best conditions for athletes. We’ll have exchanges between dwellers, tourists, and athletes from many countries.”
The event will feature 165 sets of medals in 22 events including water polo, men’s football, volleyball, Pencak silat, Vovinam, Muay Thai, Vietnamese martial arts, bodybuilding, athletics and rowing.
