Da Nang launches beach tourism season

(VOVworld) – A program called “Da Nang beach – old destination, new face” will open from next Wednesday to kick off Da Nang Beach Tourism Season 2014. It is held annually to attract visitors to Son Tra peninsula for beach and ecological recreation. Unlike previous programs which featured only cultural and art activities, this year’s event will include sports games like beach volleyball, hiphop dance competition, and bike and kayak racing.

Nguyen Duc Vu, chief manager of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, said: “The success of the program kickstarting last year’s beach tourism season has motivated us to organize it annually in the hope for more visitors to Da Nang. This year’s program will be more innovative with business contribution. All activities will be open for both locals and tourists.”
The number of visitors to Da Nang in the coming holiday of Vietnam’s Liberation Day is predicted to rise by 20%.
