(VOVWORLD) - The digital television station VTC broadcast a special program on Thursday to mark the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27.

The 90-minute program featured the great contributions predecessors made to the homeland and the sacrifices of generations of Vietnamese youth for national liberation and reunification. War veteran Le Quang Hung said: “War veterans like us, especially war invalids and families of martyrs, feel the great compassion and gratitude of the Party, the State and society. This tells us that our contribution to the homeland is fully acknowledged.”
The Vietnam Red Cross Society presented 100 gifts and 20 houses of gratitude to the families of Vietnam’s heroic mothers, policy beneficiaries, and disadvantaged families in Thanh Hoa province.
On this occasion, Ca Mau province inaugurated a War Martyrs’ Monument.
The same day, Vinh Long province’s Department of Education and Training organized a get-together of staff who are war invalids or children of war martyrs.
