(VOVworld) – Ten of thousands of people across Afghanistan, Pakistan and Muslim-majority Indian Kashmir have taken to the streets for southern Asia's biggest protests against satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo's cartoon portrayal of the Prophet Mohammed.

Protestors called on the UN to ban any articles offensive to the Prophet Mohammed and condemned the depiction of the prophet by Charlie Hebdo as "hate speech, journalistic terrorism". On the same day, thousands of people in Iran also took to the streets after the Friday pray to protest against satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo's cartoon portrayal of the Prophet Mohammed. More than 800 people in Sydney also took part in a march to protest against magazine Charlie Hebdo.
