(VOVworld) – The APEC International Secretariat and the APEC Policy Support Unit held a press conference in Nha Trang on Wednesday to analyze prospects for boosting cooperation between APEC members.

Participants agreed that Asia-Pacific is a dynamic region with high growth. Last year APEC economies had an average growth of 3.5% and are expected to maintain this rate, thanks to lowering interest rates to boost consumption, especially in the private sector, and to foreign investment attraction.

But globalization and weak growth of the global economy have slowed APEC growth.

This year, the bloc will set more specific targets to create new drivers for member countries and improve connectivity within APEC.

According to the APEC International Secretariat and the APEC Policy Support Unit, they will continue to support Vietnam’s initiatives and step up the discussion of the process in all forums.
