APEC Food Security Week to take place in Can Tho
(VOVWORLD) - The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will host the APEC 2017 Food Security Week and a High-Level Policy Dialogue on Enhancing Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture in Response to Climate Change in Can Tho City, beginning Friday.

The event, part of the 2017 APEC Year, will offer an opportunity for Vietnam’s agricultural sector to introduce its agricultural products to other APEC members and other potential import markets.
The week will promote sustainable agriculture using advanced technology, the sustainable use of natural resources, and control of food waste in the supply chain.
The week will include a High-Level Policy Dialogue on Enhancing Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture in Response to Climate Change and a dialogue among ministers and CEOs on responsibly using natural resources to increase food production and trade.
At the end of the week, the APEC Agriculture Ministers will adopt a “Can Tho Declaration on enhancing food security and sustainable agriculture in response to climate change” as a basis for regional cooperation.
