The meeting was held by the Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) and the Argentinean Embassy in Vietnam. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, Deputy Director of the ITPC, said: “With a combined population of 145 million people, Vietnam and Argentina can support each other in the global production chain. Vietnamese and Argentinean enterprises are working to open more market opportunities for each other.”
Rosario Martearena, from Argentina’s Ministry of Agriculture, said: “Argentina wants to prove that we are a reliable food supplier. That’s why we brought 11 firms to this meeting to introduce our cereals, seafood, meat, and by-products. We hope to export more products to Vietnam.”
With a population of 96 million people and growing incomes, Vietnam is a potential market for Argentinean exporters. Vietnam spent more than 2.6 billion USD importing farm produce and cattle feed from Argentina last year.
