ASEAN cultures highlighted at children’s art gala

(VOVworld) – An art gala for ASEAN children took place Wednesday in Hanoi, featuring 15 performances by children from 7 ASEAN countries.

Choirs from Malaysia and the Philippines and traditional dance troupes from Laos and Indonesia fascinated the young audience. The gala wrapped up with children from 7 ASEAN countries singing a song which conveyed a message of peace. The gala was part of the ASEAN Children’s Festival to welcome International Children’s Day (June 1) and celebrate the formation of the ASEAN community in 2015.

The festival was initiated by Vietnam Television (VTV) to promote friendship, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding among ASEAN children.
