ASEAN Media Forum convenes
(VOVWORLD) - Despite many difficulties and challenges in 2020, ASEAN cooperation has achieved good results this year, laying a strong foundation for ASEAN development in the next stage, said Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung, Head of Vietnam’s ASEAN Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM) delegation, on Tuesday.

Dung made the observation during the Conversation with the ASEAN Chair at the 4th ASEAN Media Forum (AMF).
Mr. Dung reiterated ASEAN’s advocacy for maintaining a Southeast Asian region of peace, security, neutrality, and stability that promotes mutual trust, respects international law and pursues a balanced approach in partnerships.
Participants agreed that stronger economic links and regional connectivity were also highlights of Vietnam’s ASEAN Chairmanship Year. The signing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) showed ASEAN’s strong commitment to open, multilateral trade based on rules.
