PM Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (Photo: bernama.com) (VOVworld) – Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak has called on ASEAN member states to work together to turn ASEAN Community into a major global player.
Addressing a ceremony in Kuala Lumpur to mark ASEAN’s 48th anniversary, Najib said with a strong community, they could forge new agreements with bigger countries and other groups, which will benefit the regional grouping.
He said since its establishment in 1967, ASEAN has been contributing towards tangible and significant progress, not only for the region as a whole but also individually for its member states and its people.
Najib underscored the need to raise the awareness on ASEAN, its great achievements of the past and the brighter horizons for all it should bring about in the future.
On this occasion, PM Najib launched ASEAN guide book entitled 'My ASEAN My Home'.
