(VOVworld) – As a co-ordinator of ASEAN, Vietnam has contributed effectively to ASEAN-EU ties for two years, said Head of the EU delegation to Vietnam Ambassador Franz Jessen at a press conference in Hanoi on Tuesday.

He said Vietnam is a good partner of the EU and has upheld ASEAN’s central role in the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). Jessen spoke of the up-coming ASEM Summit in Milan from October 15-17, saying Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will meet with the EC President, the EU Commission President, and the EU Parliament President to discuss economic co-operation and the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement.
