Asia-Pacific scientists meet in Hanoi
(VOVWORLD) - The 8th annual meeting of the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists-Asia and Pacific Nation Network (INWES-APNN) takes place in Hanoi from Thursday to Saturday.

The event is jointly held by the Vietnam Women’s Union and the Vietnam Association for Intellectual Women (VAIW), bringing together female scientists from various Asia-Pacific countries.
Gail Mattison, INWES Chairwoman, appreciated Vietnam’s hosting of the event. She said that the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists-Asia and Pacific Nation Network represent over 250,000 women from 62 countries. Their common goal is to build a better future worldwide and effective participation of women and girls at all aspects. The meeting is a good effort put-forth to support the establishment of organizations in countries.
During the three-day meeting, participants will discuss issues relating to gender and gender equality in science and technology, food safety and nutrition, as well asnatural disaster risk management and climate change adaptation.
