(VOVworld) - The Autumn Book Fair 2016- the first book fair hosted by the Ministry of Information and Communication officially opened today, on Friday at Hanoi’s Thong Nhat Park.

At the opening ceremony, the Minister of Information and Communication Truong Minh Tuan stressed that the Autumn Book Fair and other book fairs which offer create series of cultural activities related to books help to create tighter bonds between books and readers, toward building and developing the reading culture in the community. It is a great opportunity for publishing agencies and organizations to advertise and promote their trademark. Minister Truong Minh Tuan said: “This book fair is not only the cultural rendezvous for Hanoians, the annual activity of the printing and publishing industry but also serves as the pilot program to be replicated in other localities nationwide. Promoting book and book reading will give readers help readers with more opportunities to approach more books, and contribute to implementing the national strategy on promoting reading culture.”

The first Autumn Book Fair has attracted the participation of 60 publishing houses and postal, education and training agencies with approximately 70 stalls.
