(VOVWORLD) - Bao Yen district’s Culture-Tourism Week 2023 opened in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai on Friday with the Bao Ha Temple Festival being the highlight.

Bao Yen district is known as the center of spiritual tourism and the capital of cinnamon trees in Lao Cai.
It is also home to 26 ethnic groups and 11 relics including 3 national historical relic sites: Bao Ha Temple, Pho Rang Military Post, and Phuc Khanh Temple.
Tran Trong Thong, Chairman of the Bao Yen district People’s Committee, said at the opening ceremony that the event offers an opportunity to introduce and promote Bao Yen district and its people to visitors near and far, helping to fulfill their goal of welcoming 2.5 million visitors by 2025.

Running through next Friday, the culture-tourism week will cover more than 30 events such as a cinnamon festival, an investment promotion seminar for Lao Cai’s cinnamon industry, a marathon race, a fair of Lao Cai’s ethnic minority groups, the Bao Ha Temple Festival, the Long Khanh Temple Festival and the Nghia Do Temple Festival.
A workshop on the Seventh Prince known as the God of National Guard at Bao Ha Temple will also be held.
