(VOVworld) - Blood donation activities were held in Hanoi and many other provinces and cities yesterday. The capital city collected more than 120,000 blood units. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Vice Chair of the Municipal People’s Committee said that the blood collected every year can meet 60% of the demand. The blood donation drive was held from April 1st to 7th with many state agencies, schools and businesses participating.
A meeting was held in Can Tho to mark Voluntary Blood Donation Day April 7th involving more than 1,500 Youth Union members, state employees and soldiers.
Tran Kim Truc, a second year student of Can Tho University, said: “This is a useful social activity and I hope that my blood would help as many patients as possible. As a student I want to join many community activities to contribute to society. I hope that more people will donate their blood too.”
