Boosting e-commerce in Vietnam
(VOVworld) – The Government’s Decree 52 on E-commerce has fundamentally completed the legal framework to promote commerce, particularly e-commerce in Vietnam.

Speaking at a meeting to introduce the Decree in Hanoi on Friday, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Tran Tuan Anh said e-commerce policy is part of the economic infrastructure development plan to strengthen the national economic competitiveness. Mr. Anh said e-commerce in Vietnam remains behind its potential. Last year, e-commerce retail sale was 600 million USD.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade targets to fine tune policy to double e-commerce turnover in the near future. Anh said:
"Vietnam is on its global economic integration and e-commerce has become an important tool for the national economy and businesses to enhance added values and competitiveness. The government’s Decree 52 is on the right path to comprehend the legal environment for the implementation of feasible plans and measures to promote e-commerce in line with the Party Central Committee’s resolution on developing economic infrastructure, including e-commerce infrastructure." said Anh.
The Decree 52 will come into effect on July 1st.During the meeting, the E-commerce Department introduced its website www.online.gov.vn which consists of up-dated e-commerce policies and on-line transactions.
